It is intended to run a Soap Box Derby type event at the August Party in the Park weekend, depending on the amount of interest. There are certain rules and guidelines for this event, which to some degree will be flexible (why have rules if you can’t break them).

This event is intended to be a social event and also to demonstrate the skills in making your own Soap Box / Kart.

Fun is the byword, but safety is paramount, so get busy sorting out your pram wheels and old wooden boxes, remember it needs to withstand several journeys off road and be able to fit into your caravan or trailer.

A Land Rover 90 was stolen (and recovered after a chase) from Redditch on the 7th May. Police say that it was a professional gang as they knew how to pass immobilisers and alarms. West Mercia Police have also published some advice regarding Land Rover theft.
