Rugby Point to Point - April 2009
Five vehicles turned out on the day, including two new members to this event. The ground was fairly dry, and the organisers had been watering the course with hoses the week before because the ground was too hard, and they wanted slightly softer ground for the horses.
We all parked up in our normal locations and waited to see which Doctors and Vets turned up. It was our usual ones, so we knew we were going to be appreciated even before we even moved. Unfortunately, because of the ground conditions, some races only had two or three horses taking part so it was not as busy as normal for the Doctors and Vets, but there were some minor incidents for both professions. The day was dry and sunny, we had a good chat and a laugh between us all, and by 5pm we were all on our way home after a good days work…………we even helped a punter out that had a flat battery on his car before he could go home.
