Play Day at Aston Cantlow - May 2009

Laying out started on the Saturday at 10am,of which six vehicles turned out. As the ground was drier than on our last visit in February, it gave us the chance to keep some of the harder tracks open for those more experienced drivers, and more capable vehicles. The course gave any driver numerous choices, but mainly a “green route” was for the inexperienced and those not wanting to have too much trouble, with an “orange route” for the more experienced drivers wanting to test themselves, and their motors a little harder. The day went well, and the evening was just as good, as a few of us stayed nearby overnight, which gave us all time to unwind. The next day started early for us at 07:00 so we could all have a cooked breakfast before starting work again.

A rather disappointing turn out on the Sunday morning for such a nice sunny day. At one point early on there were more marshals signed-on than there were vehicles on the course. Turn- out improved slightly during the day, with a great day had by all. We have even had an email from someone taking part with a Freelander who said he had a very enjoyable day. Only one big recovery of the day, with enough tow outs, made for a very busy weekend for all those who helped out.
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP, AND I HOPE EVERYONE WHO TURNED UP, ENJOYED IT.
