September Camping Rally
27th to 30th September 2024
Anyone interested in a camping weekend at Eastnor Deer Park?
I have just booked an MROC camping rally there for 27th to 30th September, so if anyone would like to book in, please contact Ruth either on Messenger, or email on journal@mroc.co.uk .
£15 per caravan / tent / motorhome per night.
There is water on site plus Elsan emptying points, but you will need to bring your own facilities.
This will be Richard's and Ruth's first attempt at running an MROC camping rally, so please be gentle with us!
Major's 2 Day CCV Trial
Fri~Sun 13th~15th Sept. 2024
MROC will be again holding our annual 2 day team CCV trial at the same site as last year's well received & successful event !
The venue is Green Hall Farm, near Llanfyllin, Powys, SY22 5LG .
NB This site is approx 75 miles North West of Birmingham / 25 miles West of Shrewsbury (Not close to Eastnor Castle).
The trial consists of 10 sections each day on Saturday & Sunday.
NO trailering of cars will be required from campsite to trials areas !
Spectators welcome, but we'd prefer volunteers as Marshals !

MROC TYRO & CCV Trial - Croft Farm (Malvern)

MROC will be organising a TYRO & CCV trials at Croft Farm on the Western edge of Malvern. Directions here).
Pre event Signing-On is required, BUT payment is Cash on the day - £10 for the TYRO, £25 for the CCV.

Easter MROC TYRO, RTV & CCV Timed Trials
& Camping / Caravans - Newman's Quarry
& Camping / Caravans - Newman's Quarry
Sat 30th, Sun 31st & Mon. 1st April (Easter Weekend)
MROC will be organising separate trials for the above at Newman's Quarry (Approx 5m East of Moreton in Marsh. Directions here).
TYRO (Saturday) is just turn-up, Sign-On & pay Cash on the Day (ONLY £10 entry fee for drivers). Should be 8 sections of fun for all !
If you're willing to book ahead of the event it would help us plan better though.
CCV vehicles can be entered for Novice drivers.
CCV vehicles can also enter the RTV trial, but won't be eligible for RTV awards. CCV vehicles will be run after the RTV vehicles on each Section.
Pre event Signing-On is requested for the RTV (Sunday) & CCV TT (Monday).
Driver entry fees are ALL "Cash on the day". RTV entry cost is £25, CCV TT is £30.

Back to Newman's Quarry again for another fun event following on from the previous day's TYRO.
We're not sure if anyone will want to beat Hamish's height from 2021's event !
There'll be a 15 drivers limit, reserves will be accepted in case of drop outs.

MROC AGM
Wednesday 8th November 2023 THIS Wednesday !
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is the most important Club meeting of the year and the Committee urge all paid-up members to attend who can.
In addition to a quick review of the past year's activities, we'll elect next year's committee - including filling current vacancies. If you're interested in helping us run the club, please ask for info.
Members can let us know what events they enjoy & what they'd like added / changed.
Nomination forms for committee roles & more detail have been supplied via the recent Club Journal.
Formal proceedings only last 1 hour from 8pm, but there's always time afterwards for a chat !
We can't promise alcohol, but tea/coffee/water freely available & we've usually got chocolates !
Location is the Heath Suite, Beckets Farm on the A435 Alcester Road (location details). Access to the Heath Suite is through the Becketts Farm Restaurant entrance.

MROC TYRO & CCV Trials - Wagtail CANCELLED
Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd October 2023
CANCELLED : This weekend's TYRO & CCV trials have unfortunately had to be cancelled at the request of the Landowner due to the waterlogged condition of the site & flooded approach roads. PLEASE DO NOT turn up hoping things might have improved !
As stated in our booking info., we'll arrange refunds for those who've already paid via Bank Transfer & will hold the couple of PayPal payments as a credit ready for future events
MROC will be running trials at "Wagtail" / Granby Farm (midway between Halford, Idlicote & Tredington). Site location & directions link here.
It's a fun site that we've not used for a few years (Wagtail Spinney is the wood on the North edge of the site).
TYRO trial On Saturday 21st Oct & CCV Trial on Sunday 22nd Oct.
TYRO trials are non damaging events, so if you're not sure whether you want to enter, we'd say "just do it" - lol

Baskerville Challenge Weekend
Sat 26th - 28th August 2023
Wye & Welsh LRC's annual August Bank Holiday event - similar format to last year.
The event takes place in the grounds behind Baskerville Hall Hotel, near Hay on Wye, Powys, HR3 5LE.
CCV & TYRO trials on Saturday,
Combined RTV / CCV "Who Dares Wins" on Sunday &
CCV Timed Trial on Monday.
Camping / Caravanning available from Friday ~ Monday (longer stays available too). Catering, bar & toilets available in the campsite area.

2 Day CCV Trial (SROC)
Saturday & Sunday 5th & 6th August 2023
Southern Rover Owners Club will be running their annual 2 day CCV trial (Saturday & Sunday). The Venue has changed compared to recent years - It's now Deudneys Farm, near Hailsham.
12 Sections for each trial - so lots to challenge the drivers !
Catering on site for Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner and Sunday breakfast . Lunch breaks each day will be taken when convenient on Saturday and once finished on Sunday, so take provisions if need be. They'll be providing all Marshalls once again with lunches

Camping & Caravan Rally - Welland Steam Rally

The annual Welland Steam Rally
The event takes place at Woodside Farm, Welland, Worcestershire. WR13 6NG
There's a very full program of activities during the weekend.
MROC will have their own area of Camping / Caravanning & large number of attendees - as usual !

Event opens from mid day Thursday, but all camping units must be off site by mid day Monday.
As we're regular attendees, we get some discounts !

WEEK END CAMPING £35 per pitch. We have 50 neighbouring pitches allocated.
Payment is on arrival. Passes are handed out after the MROC Rally Officer receives payment.

As the event is very popular with MROC members, Bookings for the MROC pitches will only be taken from paid-up MROC members.
Members can also book additional pitches for friends/ relatives.

ALRC National Rally
Thurs 25th ~ Tues 30h May 2023
The ALRC National will be a lot closer this year - as Wye & Welsh LRC are the main organisers and the venue is close to Ebbw Vale (NP13 2ER).
There's a very full program of trials from Fri ~Mon. : RTV, CCV & TYRO + Team Recovery, Comp Safari , Concours d’Elegance & Bike Trial !
Camping / Caravanning is available with good access to the competition areas. There will be on site catering / refreshments & toilets & maybe showers (tbc).

In addition to competitors, to allow the event to run requires marshals - so if you're willing to volunteer, great ! Please volunteer either via a driver's entry form or submit your own "entry" as a marshal.

CCV / RTV & RTV1 Trials - Bidfield Farm
Sunday 21st May 2023
If you're not planning on competing, spectating or helping marshal at the ALRC National the following weekend, CCROC will be holding RTV1 (=TYRO+), RTV / CCV trials on the same day at Bidfield Farm, Birdlip (South of Cheltenham (directions here).
The trials require pre-event Signing-On, but are pay on arrival.
The site is a mix of big open grassy banks with a few trees.

Camping will be available from the Friday afternoon of the Special Bank Holiday weekend through to the Monday after.
Camping is £15 (TBC) per night per unit, payable as cash on arrival.

Note This is a good trials site, only slightly South of our typical sites such as Aggs Hill quarry & Birdlip. There's only 2 or 3 trees on the whole site, but plenty of challenges - lol.

CCROC will be holding TYRO, RTV & CCV trials at Yatton Keynell, just South of the M4, approx 4 miles North West of Chippenham (directions here.).

As the weather can be a bit unkind at this time of the year & Halford can get rather boggy, the event is subject to land owner confirmation a week before the trial date.

Clee Hills Trial Support
22nd January 2023
Midland Automobile Club (MAC) will be running their annual production car & bike trial around the Clee Hills in Shropshire on Sunday the 22nd.
MROC usually provide 4x4 vehicles & their owners to help recover any vehicles that get stuck or break down in the sections (Recovery to either the start or end of the section).
MROC Volunteers needed with a 4x4 with at least All Terrain tyres (& some with Mud Terrains). Most of the day is spend spectating when not rcovering the odd vehicle !
Vehicles taking part range from the 1900s to typically the 1980s & include bikes and cars (cars are all 2WD). More Trial info via their website here.

Day / Night Trial ! (RTV / CCV)
17th December 2022 (Saturday) CONFIRMED, BUT SEE Timing below)
CCROC organised annual day / night trial at Newman's Quarry, close to Moreton in Marsh (Directions here).
CCV vehicles can enter too. There will be CCV section variations too.
There won't be a separate TYRO / RTV1 trial.
The event start time is NOW CONFIRMED as 12:30 am (Due to the early Dusk) with 4 sections in daylight & then continues after a "half-time" halt for refreshments / a chat with 4 more sections in the dark (glow sticks on the canes - lol). The Sections are typically not quite as severe as "normal" RTV to allow for the night-time driving difficulties.
This event does not count towards league results.
Despite the attached photo, I don't remember much moonlight in previous events as it's typically cloudy at this time of year ! Some drivers have tried the night sections without lights & relying on their night vision - but usually not for long - lol.
Auxiliary lights are permitted, but must be fixed & powered by the car.
High Viz jackets / tabards / arm bands COMPULSORY after half time to ensure your safety / visibility in the dark while not in a car!
Catering will probably be available (food, hot & cold drinks).

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is the most important Club meeting of the year and the Committee urge all paid-up members to attend who can.
In addition to a quick review of the past year's activities, we'll elect next year's committee - including filling current vacancies.

For those in the "South Midlands", there are RTV & CCV trials being organised jointly by Somerset & Wilts LRC & CCROC at Yatton Keynell,
(Its apparently a relatively small site approx 3 miles North of Chippenham,
Post Code SN14 7EL).
There may only be limited capacity for extra CCV vehicles.

Cost is £25 per driver.
Pay on the Day is believed to be possible.
Major's Memorial 2 Day CCV Trial at Eastnor Castle
Fri~Sun 16th~18th Sept. 2022
MROC will again be holding our big annual 2 day team CCV trial in the woods at Eastnor Castle.
The trial consists of 10 sections on both Saturday & Sunday.
Camping (incl. caravans & motorhomes) is possible from Fri~ Mon (catering, toilets & bar will be in place !)
Teams of 3 drivers from Clubs throughout the UK compete for the lowest total score after both days trials & the Major's Rosebowl.
As well as competitors, we need marshals to support each days trialling & helpers to set-up on Friday & wind-up things on Sunday.
Spectating is possible, but very long walks involved !

The event takes place in the grounds behind Baskerville Hall Hotel, near Hay on Wye, Powys, HR3 5LE.

CCV Timed Trial on Monday.

The ALRC National is finally back after a couple of years being cancelled due to COVID,
The event takes place at Bilsington Priory, near Kent (only 20 minutes from the sea / sandy beaches !).
There's a very full program of trials : RTV, CCV & TYRO + Team Recovery, Comp Safari & Bike Trial from Thurs 2nd June ~ Sunday 5th June !
All are part of extensive activities during the extended late May Bank Holiday weekend.
Camping / Caravanning is available from the week before (half term school holiday) Sat 28th May ~ Mon 6th June.

CCROC will be holding RTV1 (=TYRO+), RTV / CCV trials on the same day at Bidfield Farm, Birdlip (South of Cheltenham (directions here).

The site is a mix of big open grassy banks with a few trees.

We'll be back to a hopefully almost normal Easter this year, with camping / caravans, social get togethers and a packed trialling calendar !
Camping will be available from the Thursday afternoon of the Bank Holiday weekend through to the Tuesday after.
We'll have toilets in the camping & trials areas & the camp site has water and a chemical toilet emptying point.
Camping is £15 per night per unit, payable as cash on arrival.
We've got catering on Saturday evening only - Home a la Carte - selling burgers, fries etc (last minute change due to COVID impact on our previous caterer).
Bring your own food / drink for meals at other times.
We will have marquees for eating, drinking & socialising etc.
Great News for anyone Camping or caravanning during the weekend. Bar 7 will have the bar open Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights !!
The Estate have implemented gate lock codes to the Deer Park, so to gain accesss we'll need all potential campers to book via our Camping & Caravan Sec., Amanda Barber via email to caravans@mroc.co.uk

MROC AGM

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is the most important Club meeting of the year and the Committee urge all paid-up members to attend who can.
In addition to a quick review of the past year's activities, we'll elect next year's committee - including filling current vacancies.
Nomination forms for committee roles & more detail have been supplied via the very recent Club Journal.
Location is the Heath Suite, Beckets Farm on the A435 Alcester Road (location details). Access to the Heath Suite is through the Becketts Farm Restaurant entrance.

Anglian Rover Owners Club (AROC) are organising RTV & CCV trials at Newman's Quarry. Entry is via their online entry form accessible via their website. Entry cost is £30 per driver - payable in advance of the event. The event is open to MROC members.

CCROC are organising RTV 1 & RTV2 / CCV trials at Frocester (easy access 5m from Jn13 of the M5).

Camping & Caravan Event
8-10th October 2021
MROC is organising a C&C event at at Bannut Tree Farm Caravan Park - a working farm on the edge of the Wyre Forest in the picturesque Severn Valley.
There's good local pub food. There's plenty to do too.
If you fancy a ride on a steam train there's the Severn Valley railway, or if you fancy an Autumn walk or a cycle ride there is the Wyre Forest countryside centre.
We hope you can join us.

Family Fun Weekend
6 - 8 August 2021
As detailed in the latest journal, we will be holding a camping weekend at Leys Farm, Ledbury.
Camping from the Friday afternoon.
No need to camp to take part in Saturday's activities, just turn up.
The site has water and a chemical toilet emptying point.
Camping is £10 per night per unit, payable as cash on arrival .

BBQ with a quiz from quiz master Samantha Miller.
We’ll have the coals hot, just bring along your tasty treats to cook & eat

Please come and join us for a long-awaited social and camping weekend. There will be no competitions but a scenic drive around the 1000 acre Eastnor Estate is planned.
Camping: £12 per night.
Scenic Drive: £5 per vehicle.

Staffs & Shrops LRC will be holding both ALRC RTV & Open CCV trials on the 29th, Comp Safari on the 30th & CCV Timed Trial + TYRO on the 1st May at Baden Hall, near Stone (directions here). The trials are part of the traditional full May Day Bank Holiday weekend of activities incl. Comp Safari, Timed CCV & TYRO Trials & Camping / Caravanning. Camping / Caravanning available + catering !
We've usually got various MROC RTV & CCV drivers competing , so why not join them ?
