Midland Rover Owners Club

Midland Rover Owners Club (MROC) is a club of Land Rover owners and enthusiasts in the West Midlands region of England, UK.

We're typically out and about monthly, competing via off-road RTV or CCV trials or socialising via camping & caravan meets, Pub meets or Green Laning.
Excluding Green Laning events, most of our Club activities are within an area 50 miles West & South of Birmingham.

Major's CCV Trial : This year's Major's CCV trial was another success & everybody appears to have enjoyed themselves ! The new site up in Shropshire has lots of variety & the trials sections got lots of praise from the competitors. Big thanks to the Clerks of the Course, event organisers, competitors & the marshals - without all of you, the event wouldn't go ahead as well as it does !
Next years event has been booked with the land owners for 13th & 14th September 2025. Add it to your diaries now !

Tony Hobby : Sadly, we have to report long term member of the Club Tony Hobby passed away on Friday 12th July 2024.
Tony had been a member of MROC for nearly 40 years and was an avid supporter of the club, always lending a hand when needed.

Our thoughts and love go out to his wife Diane and all of the family.

MROC TYRO & CCV Trials - Wagtail 

TYRO Sat 12th October, CCV Sun 13th October, 2024

MROC will be organising a TYRO & CCV trials at Wagtail (aka Granby Farm,  approx 10 miles South East of Stratford upon Avon). Directions here).
Pre event Signing-On is required for the CCV, optional for the TYRO.
Payment is Cash on the day for either trial - £15 for the TYRO, £30 for the CCV (please note increased costs).

MROC AGM

Wednesday 6th November 2024 !

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is the most important Club meeting of the year and the Committee urge all paid-up members to attend who can.

In addition to a quick review of the past year's activities, we'll elect next year's committee - including filling current vacancies.
Nomination forms for committee roles & more detail have been supplied via the very recent Club Journal.
The location is new this year : The Limes Country Lodge Hotel, Earlswood, B94 5JZ. We'll be in the Commodore Suite.

BEWARE : The hotel have warned us that they might have a new parking system in place requiring all drivers to input their Car Registration into a terminal in the hotel. Please check on arrival if it's in place & follow the guidleines on use.

October Half Term Camping Rally

Fri October 25 ~ Sun November 3rd 2024

Burleigh Hill Campsite, Somersham Road, St Ives, Cambridgeshire, PE27 3LY.

We have used this site on numerous occasions in the past; the site is on a level rally field, with the option of electric hook-ups. There are showers and toilets on site, plus Elsan and Waste points.

Prices:
Caravans & Motorhomes : £15 per pitch per night - no electric.

£20 per pitch per night - with electric hook-up.

Tents: £5 per person per night - no electric.

Electric available at an additional cost of £5 per pitch per night.

All the above are subject to a £5.00 Rally Fee per booking.

General info...
The camp site is located approximately 2 miles from the riverside market town of St Ives and its 15th Century Bridge which incorporates a chapel! The town has the usual pubs, tea rooms and assorted shops. There is a local pub / supermarket etc approximately half a mile from the site, along a public footpath. Nearby are numerous riverside villages, many boat marinas, plenty of riverside pubs and eating houses.
